This conference provides an opportunity for those in and outside the field of cognitive education to address important issues together, such as:
- What do we, as practitioners and researchers, and also as teachers and learners, really need to know in the 21st century? Should we focus on the acquisition of factual information, on understanding how to learn, on thinking critically about what we learn, or combinations of all of these?
- How does curriculum assist or detract from teaching and learning? How does it help or hinder the relationship between the teacher and learner?
- Should dynamic assessment focus more on curriculum and less on cognitive processes? What are the problems of doing both?

IACEP Introduction
The International Association for Cognitive Education and Psychology (IACEP) enjoys world-wide membership of psychologists, educators, professional practitioners, and students with an interest in cognition and its various attributes, how cognition develops in families and in all cultures, how the development of thinking and learning abilities can be facilitated through various approaches/programs/models, and how dynamic assessment improves our understanding of individuals’ cognitive functioning and potential to learn. IACEP publishes the Journal of Cognitive Education and Psychology, available online to its members, and conducts international and regional conferences regularly. The major goal of IACEP conferences is to provide practitioners and researchers with opportunities to share ideas, practices and findings from academic and practitioner research.
